What To Do And See For nature lovers: The sea is just 20 minutes away from the Castle. You may rent services on the beach like sun loungers and umbrellas. There is a charming riding school close by and plenty of open natural territory of the Gran Sasso mountains for riding enthusiasts. This unique mountain range continues along the of Italy. It takes just about an hour to get to the Maiella mountain range that is found towards the south. For culture and history seekers: In the near surroundings of the Castle, you will find the Historic Castle Ceramic Museum just 50m away that hosts the well known Acerbo collection. Here you will find a unique antique casket and uncommon pieces of ceramic that date back years ago and were created by historical craftsmen form the neighbouring areas of nearby castles. The rare peices of antique ceramic are unique because of the work method used years ago. Baron Acerbo, was originally a citizen and went on to become Secretary Of State in the Mussolini government, and it was him who originally started the collection of remarkable works. There is an attention-grabbing tour of the historic "borgi" that includes an excursion to the local artisan studios. On this visit it is possible to actually participate in the creation of certain items and you can witness the techniques that have been handed down over the years. |
