Hotel Overview

Zoom

This magnificient architecture in Venice, former palace of the Dandolo family, also housed during the 15th century the earliest "Ridotto" of the city, a sort of retreat for patricians and lower-class people looking for different kinds of leisure: courtesans, gambles, brawls and political plots.

The structure has a rich and picaresque past and Giacomo Casanova especially enjoyed it, being one of its famous and frequent visitors.

A more sober yet equally rich atmosphere exudes now from these renovated walls, brought back to their original glory, which contain a luxury hotel equipped with the latest amenities.

The Hotel Monaco features 100 guest rooms, richly appointed and charecterized by an ancient alluring grandeur.

Excellent conference facilities up to 250 delegates and 8 halls for seminars and meetings are all provided by the hotel in an unrivalled Venetian frame.

The Grand Canal restaurant serves tempting delicacies from the local cuisine within a warm refined ambiance.

The hotel's exclusive Restaurant buzzes at lunch and dinner with both the Venetian and international devotees of its superb cuisine and service.

Start your day with the continental breakfast with fresh in house baked pastries and fresh pressed juice served at our Restaurant "Grand Canal", and in fine weather on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal, American Breakfast, is served a la carte (with surcharge).

  • This is a very nice, comfortable and enjoyable hotel. The staff is very attentive and professional. But it is a pitty that such a high ranked hotel does not offer a breakfast buffet, the only minus.

  • Excellent experience; wonderful room. Two recommendations/complaints:
The pillows are rocks that are unfit to sleep on. It is difficult to believe that a 4-star (or whatever) hotel would provide pillows of such low quality/comfort.
Our room cried-out for a comfortable lounge chair. All we had were two attactive, but spartain straight-back chairs.
On the marginal side, the bed was not of 4-plus star quality -- rather hard and it "squeaked" when one got in/out or rolled over.
Still -- a superb hotel with excellent service in an incredible location.

  • During the last 40 years I have stayed at the Danieli, Lido Exselsior as well as the Cipriani but
I prefer the Monaco and Grad Canal as the most convinient hotel when we travel to Venice
The Restaurant Terace is the Best in Venice
