The hotel offers fantastic Venetian views and is very close to the boutique shopping area and many of the important points of interest in the city. There are many unique pieces of furniture in the hotel. There is an elaborately hand painted grand piano, gorgeous woven rugs, marble tiles, and finely painted gold-trimmed ceilings. The Hotel Gritti Palace contains the history of visits from many royal families and famous people. The hotel is famous for its private, professional attention given by the personnel and exquisite elegance and it has been noted on the "Best of the Best," one of the "Top 75 Resorts in Europe," and to the Gold List Reserve by Condé Nast Traveler in 2005.
The Club del Doge restaurant serves some truly fine cuisine, created and served with elegance. Prepared with the freshest and most select local ingredients from Venice’s well known Rialto Market. - We recently stayed at the Hotel Gritti Palace on the occasion of our 10th Wedding Anniversary. Our room was a deluxe with a Grand Canal view. The room was fantastic, it was large and had beautiful antique furniture, there was a lovely well appointed bathroom. The room was spotlessly clean. However the true high point which can not easily be captured in the pictures on the website are the phenomenal views of the Grand Canal, our room had a double aspect. On one side doors opened onto a balcony that provided a fantastic view South toward Saulte and in the distance the lagoon south of San Marco, this balcony also allowed you to look up a small canal that ran along the side of the Hotel that was frequently plied by gondolas. The second window looked directly across the Canaleto the palazzo's opposite and some Northward views up the Grand Canal. It was a sheer joy to watch all the river craft plying up and down the river. Even at night time it was plesent to leave the windows open to hear the sounds of the boats gliding up and down the river. The room we found to be very quiet (especailly so with the windows shut). The bed was very large and comfortable, we have never slept so well before in a hotel. The maid service was excellent and very unobtrusive. There were many personal touches, however I will not reveal all of these as it may spoil the surprise for a future visitor !. We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, everyone we passed in the corridor would say hello to us. It was very easy to check in and the hotel was very helpful in holding our bags when we arrived early and would have held them if we had wanted to check out late on the day of depature. One one evening we dressed up and made use of the hotels Club del Doge resturant, the food and service was excellent although too expensive for casual dining !. We only had two minor disappointments, there was no Tea/Coffee making facility in the room which we understand is due to local fire/safety regulations and we would have welcomed access to more foreign language channels (eg English !) on the TV. However overall the hotel was fantastic, the room price was at the top end of Hotel prices for Venice however on reflection it was well worth it and I would recommend a stay at this Hotel to anyone and I would love to go there again some day.

- The hotel was highly professional and responsive and as a compensation (and I guess to keep me happy) offered breakfast for all three mornings which we appreciated very much.
The helpfulness in the Gritti Palace is beyond words, excellent and genuinly offered. Highly impressed.

- You should not charge your customer for web and wifi access. This is a palace, and we are in the XXIst century...
