16 June 2011"Very close to the Vatican (walking distance) and some nice restaurants nearby. Little away from the centre, good connections by bus and Metro. The good thing about being outside the (noisy!) centre is that the hotel is situated in a quiet neighbourhood. Very good breakfast (and cappucino), safe and wifi. Hotel also arranged transfer from and to the airport. Excellent service."

15 December 2010"We spent in Rome 3 nights and 4 days. The most important characteristic of this hotel is its GREAT location. Just 5 minutes walking from the Central train station of Rome ("Termini") and 7 minutes from the Bus Shuttle (of both Rome's airports) 3 minutes from the SightSeeing Buses, and Metro station (crossroad of the two subway lines). 20 minutes walking from the Colosseum. Almost all famous Rome's sites are available even without public transport. The room facility is not in the best condition - the air-conditioner was terribly noisy and we had to switch it off at the nights, fortunately the temperature was acceptable. It was impossible to tightly close the bathroom door, when you are releasing water from the bath it suddenly appears leaking on the floor, the flush button of the toilet sometimes does not work. And the staff might be more benevolent. But still, the rooms were clean, there was a safe box in the wardrobe, the breakfast was not great but acceptable (except of the always cold coffee from the coffee machine), and again - location, location, location. I would order this hotel again."

28 June 2011"We stayed in June 2011. The photos are 100% correct. This is a lovely hotel. Check-in and check-out are on the 5th floor (as is the breakfast room) and there are some rooms on the 5th floor and the remaining rooms on the 4th floor. It is very easy to go from one floor to the other. There is a small (and scary) elevator in the building. Basically, one person can fit with two piece of luggage. It is very jerky in its motions and, when it stops, it is not at the same level as the floor (i.e., you have to step up to get out). The people are amazingly sweet and helpful. We felt very pampered, especially at breakfast. The bathroom is huge with a huge vanity - big enough for all our toiletries. The shower is incredible - it has three options - rain shower, shower wand, and full body jets (4 of them). A very welcome surprise. Everything is very clean. On the negative side, the beds are very hard and the pillows have no loft to them at all. The air conditioning is not able to keep the room very cool - and, it doesn't affect the bathroom at all, so showering and then getting ready in the bathroom was quite warm. But, all in all, this is a lovely hotel and I would highly recommend it. Besides all of the nice and modern amenities and the sweet staff, it is located in the center of everything. We were so happy with it, that we extended our stay for an additional night! You will not be disappointed."

29 November 2010"We stayed here because it was close to my daughter's apartment, even though we knew it was far from attractions. . The hotel is in a nice residential neighborhood, but it is not close to the tourist attractions. You have to take a bus or taxi to get to the tourist areas. There are nice restaurants in walking distance. The three person room we had was small for 3 given the price. Breakfast was a very generous buffet. In spite of being in a busy traffic area the rooms were quiet."

23 May 2010"The hotel in general is GREAT!! Whether its cleaniness, staff, room space and bathroom, are all GREAT. But I didn't expect the hotel to be located on a floor of a residential building. So for such room rate, I was a bit shocked. But glad the room is very nice, that made me feel better. The 'hotel' is not too centrally located. About 8 mins walk from 'Republic' metro station and it's rather quiet to walk around the area at night. It also took me much time to find the 'hotel' upon arrival, otherwise, the hotel is nice!"

4 October 2010"Room was small but apparently that is normal in Rome. That said the bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet. The hotel is within easy walking distance from most of the major attractions (Vatican city only a few stops away on the metro station just 2 minutes from the hotel). A good and reasonably priced base for a sight seeing trip to Rome. I would use this hotel again"

8 January 2012"i felt for 5-star this should have been better and would research more before staying here. spa attracted me to this hotel, but the facility is cramped: small exercise room, small steam area, odd not to offer complimentary tea or water to guests having services i was in room 107. the staircase closest to this room is in need of a wall light at the first floor; it is dark and a bit dangerous for the first few steps as you head down to the ground floor. at the sink area, to the left of the mirror, the wall is dirty and needs fresh paint. the gift candies were not appealing. as often happens, web can overstate the spacious of rooms"

It lived up to it's name of the Black Hotel which at times made it difficult to negotiate due to a lack of lighting / poor visibility. The pool was not open for our use and we never found the Sauna. The food was excellent though there was a more limited selection for the breakfast."
