Hotel Overview

Zoom

This is one of the most important areas of Prague, noted for its important historical attractions and it’s listed on the UNESCO protected cultural heritage list.

Some of the first references to this place goes back to the 9th century. They were previously three independent houses. Now you will find the hotel Metamorphis in the structure known as The Blue House.

In this particular building, the former Eastern gate of Ungelt was found known as the custom house.

This was the beginning of the prospering European business junction. In 1689 a huge fire destroyed what is now the state of the Tyn courtyard which has been built by the architect Mr. P.I. Bayer.

The Club restaurant is founding what used to be the entrance to the whole building back in the 12th century. What remains of the Romanian building and the outside date back to the 16th century and have been completely remodelled and carefully maintained.

The restaurant surroundings are especially pleasing with the nightly live music and the warm colours, giving the feeling of the original setting of the antique building.

  • Wireless in the room was not working at all. Front staff had no idea what to do, and didn't do anything anyway.

  • Staff were OK. No shower gel in the bathroom when I arrived. They told me they would sort it, but merely replaced the old one with hand wash - not shower gel. They must have known.
Also the beds were terrible. I had two single beds and tried both over my stay as they both sagged badly in the middle. Very uncomfortable.
On last night some Germans moved in next door and one of them was very loud from 5 am onwards. Just talking and banging around. Walls were very thin and impossible to sleep. So if you want somewhere near the old town square this is great. If you want to sleep well try somewhere else.

  • We had a lovely time the only point I would like to make is as follows: there was no lift in the hotel and we were on the third floor which wasn't a problem for us but could be for other people.

  • Great location. Room was very large. Parking was limited, but then again it is Prague.
